Blogging is fun and can be both spiritually and financially rewarding. Networking with other bloggers and commenting on their posts brings the reward of making new friends, reading some fascinating posts and finding some great shopping sites and attracts fellow bloggers to your own site. Many people do not realize that by simply commenting on a fellow bloggers post a link is created to their own site.

Bloggers can supplement their incomes in many ways. Some bloggers sell things on their sites-from handcrafted items to services. Other bloggers promote their businesses and some make money by running pay per click ads like google adsense. Many bloggers do advertising for affiliates on their sites to make money. A blogger can even get paid for posting a review of a website. There are so many ways to make money with your blog.

It is my greatest desire to see my fellow bloggers supporting each other's financial ventures: shops, services, etc. My late husband use to say, "Teri, money is nothing in itself. It is the circulation of money that gives it value."

Let's say that you have the option of going to the local department store or purchasing the same or similar item from a fellow blogger.

If you choose the department store is that purchase going to increase the wages of a single employee? Is your purchase going to give a single employee more purchasing power? No. It will, however, give that department store more capital to expand and hire even more people at near minimum wage. Whoopi! Let's create some jobs. People are barely making enough money to get to work with gasoline prices so high! On top of that so many businesses are turning to temporary agencies for employees that working people are left without any benefits, such as retirement or medical benefits.

If you choose to purchase the same or similar and in many instances even better item from a fellow blogger you have made a real impact on the quality of that person's life. Having more income that blogger will now be in a better financial position to be able to purchase things from you and fellow bloggers AND the department stores if all bloggers would follow my recommendations and shop first with fellow bloggers.

If, like myself, you are not in a financial position to do much shopping at all, at least help promote your fellow bloggers ventures by sharing information with your readers about their sites. I will do this myself at the end of this post.

I am reminded of a story shared with me by a friend from Direct Matches, a b2b networking community on the net. A man asked St. Peter what hell was like. St. Peter took him into a room filled with people sitting around a round table. They all had short arms and long handled spoons. A huge pot of stew was sitting in the middle of the table. They were miserable because they could not feed themselves with these long handled spoons. The man then asked St. Peter what heaven was like. St. Peter took him into another room. Amazingly the room looked just like the first room: people sitting around a table with a pot of stew in the middle. They all had short arms and long handled spoons but they were feeding each other and very very happy.

Our government goes to great lengths to get people to start their own small businesses because it is just plain good for the economy. Blogging is a great way to have your own small business. THINK! "What is best for me, my fellow blogger and the economy as a whole?": SHOP FROM OUR FELLOW BLOGGERS FIRST AND PROMOTE EACH OTHER'S BLOGS AND BUSINESSES.
